They can be enlarged up to any scale without losing quality keeping the file size low unlike bitmaps or images which pixelate, blur and increase file size dramatically when enlarged.
Attention! If your file has many nuances / shades / Small details / file is in poor condition, it is not always possible to convert to a vector format.
If the image cannot be converted automatically than it needs to be recreated (contact me first to see what can be done)
